Teachers across the world are suddenly having to deal with an unprecedented event in education: remote/ eLearning during a pandemic. I am about a month into distance learning. It has been a jumble of emotions and experiences. I am happy to be spending time at home and being safe, but I miss my teammates and especially my students. One aspect of this time at home that I want to leverage was starting a new blog from my old blog (RIP). Most of my posts in the next few weeks will be about what it is like to teach during a pandemic, including online teaching tools, tutorials, testimonies, and tips for self-care. This is not an easy time for must of us because change is difficult, and new things are difficult. However- we are by no means in this alone. Teachers across the country (possibly the world) are helping each other as well as their students, families, and communities. It's what we do. I know that this will become one of those watermark moments in our history, one of those "where were you" moments. I hope this blog also serves as a diary of sorts to help me remember what it was like to teach during such a unique time. Hopefully, we all grow and learn and return to school (whenever that will be) refreshed and even better educators than before.
